Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Python AWS Tech Lead with extensive experience in the credit card domain for a position at TSYS in Naperville, IL. This role requires a strong technical background in Python and AWS, coupled with a deep understanding of credit card processing and financial transactions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading technical projects and working with project leads to deliver robust solutions. This is a Day 1 onsite contract role.
Essential Skills:
- Credit Card Domain Expertise: Minimum of 3-5 recent projects specifically within the credit card domain. Must have recent banking domain experience.
- Technical Leadership: Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and guide development teams.
- Python & AWS Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with Python programming and AWS cloud services.
- Project Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with project leads and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges.
Job Description Details:
The Python AWS Tech Lead will be responsible for guiding the technical direction of projects related to credit card processing and financial services. This includes designing, developing, and deploying solutions on the AWS platform using Python. The role requires close collaboration with project leads and business stakeholders to ensure that technical solutions align with business objectives and industry best practices. Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of the credit card lifecycle, transaction processing, and associated security and compliance requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design and architecture of Python-based applications on AWS for credit card processing.
- Developing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
- Collaborating with project leads to define project scope, technical requirements, and timelines.
- Mentoring junior developers and ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices.
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in Python, AWS, and the credit card industry.
This role is critical for ensuring the successful delivery of projects that support TSYS’s core business operations in the credit card and payment processing space.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $70 – $85 per year
