Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Data Scientist to join our client, The State of MS, for a 100% remote position. This role is critical for analyzing data related to child welfare and child protective services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science methodologies and a proven ability to extract insights from complex datasets. You will be responsible for developing predictive models, performing statistical analysis, and communicating findings to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze large datasets related to child welfare and child protective services.
- Develop and implement machine learning models for prediction and classification.
- Perform statistical analysis to identify trends and patterns.
- Create data visualizations and reports to communicate findings effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide solutions.
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the analysis process.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist.
- Expertise in “child welfare” OR “child protective services” data.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
- Experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling and data mining techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex findings clearly and concisely.
- Experience working in a remote environment.
