Job Role: VMware Cloud Architect

We are seeking a highly experienced VMware Cloud Architect to join one of our client’s teams. This is a critical role focused on designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level VMware environments and cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and architect enterprise infrastructure solutions leveraging VMware technologies.
  • Provide expert-level engineering and support for the VMware platform, including vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter (versions 8/9).
  • Implement and manage software-defined networking and storage solutions using VMware vSAN and VMware NSX-T.
  • Utilize VMware Aria / VMware vRealize Suite for automation, operations, and cloud management.
  • Deploy and manage disaster recovery and business continuity solutions with VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and VMware HCX.
  • Lead the implementation and lifecycle management of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) using VMware Lifecycle Manager.
  • Design and deploy hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, integrating VMware Cloud environments with AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Develop and implement robust security models, including network overlays, micro-segmentation, and zero-trust architectures.
  • Create high-level and low-level design documentation, migration strategies, and platform roadmaps.
  • Automate infrastructure deployment and management using PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible, or Python.
  • Integrate Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and CI/CD pipelines for efficient infrastructure management.
  • Design and implement disaster recovery solutions, ensuring adherence to RPO/RTO objectives.
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring, observability, and capacity planning solutions.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level architecture presentations and detailed technical documentation.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure architecture and VMware platform engineering.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with VMware vSphere, VMware ESXi, and VMware vCenter (versions 8/9).
  • Proficiency in VMware vSAN and VMware NSX-T.
  • Extensive experience with VMware Aria / VMware vRealize Suite.
  • Experience with VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and VMware HCX.
  • Deep understanding of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and its lifecycle management.
  • Experience with VMware Tanzu and Kubernetes-based container platforms.
  • Proven experience designing hybrid and multi-cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) with VMware integration.
  • Expertise in network security, micro-segmentation, and zero-trust principles.
  • Skilled in creating HLD/LLD documentation, migration plans, and roadmaps.
  • Strong automation and scripting skills (PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible, Python).
  • Familiarity with IaC and CI/CD concepts.
  • Experience designing and implementing DR/BC solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $60 – $80 per year (Estimated)
