Job Summary

We are seeking a highly technical SAP BASIS Administrator to manage the overall technical infrastructure of the SAP system. This role involves system monitoring, user administration, backups, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. The administrator will ensure the smooth operation of the SAP environment by managing configurations and resolving technical issues across various SAP modules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and perform required system changes, solution design, server architecture, and performance analysis. Analyze process gaps and fine-tune as required.
  • Ensure delivery within the defined SLA and agreed milestones (projects) by following best practices and processes and observing KPIs for continuous service improvement.
  • Interact with other teams (functional, ABAP teams) to understand functional/technical requirements and solve issues in the system administration area.
  • Collaborate with the SAP HANA application implementation team and the infrastructure team to ensure proper implementation, sustainable support, and peak performance.
  • Execute common SAP and industry standard daily/weekly/monthly maintenance, BASIS administration procedures for SAP HANA.
  • Install, upgrade, and monitor SAP HANA Databases / HANA Database Cockpit in a scale-up and scale-out environment.
  • Setup three-tier HANA System Replication.
  • Troubleshoot HANA memory bottlenecks, tune performance, and manage workload.
  • Establish, implement, and test disaster recovery and test business continuity solutions for SAP HANA.
  • Configure HANA SSO/SAML.
  • Support SAP Bank Analyzer and the BW HANA environment.
  • Set up CTS+ for HANA transports.
  • Implement & maintain Solution Manager monitoring alerts, configure object metrics for App Server, HDB, and OS level.

Technical Qualifications

  • In-depth technical skills in managing SAP systems, HANA DBs, and integration interfaces.
  • Experience with the review and coordination of impact analysis on application requirements, including functional, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations requirements. Able to translate them to technical architecture and system/server configuration requirements.
  • Ability to provide input into final decisions regarding hardware, network products, system software, and security.
  • Experience in automation in the SAP on Cloud space, GCP deployments, and High-Availability Disaster Recovery.
  • Experience with the support of SAP systems running on High Availability platforms, capable of troubleshooting system startup and performance issues.
  • Experience in L1 administration of Red Hat and SUSE Linux is required.
  • Working knowledge of SUSE Linux enterprise High Availability cluster.
  • Experience in configuration and maintenance of Solution Manager CHARM. Able to add/remove systems via SLD & CUA.
  • BOBJ administration experience. Able to configure new systems and move content between them.
  • Prior experience with role synchronization with BW4HANA and BO CMC/BI tool administration.
  • BW4HANA administration support experience, SDA, Business Objects integration, and security expertise.
  • Ability to enforce security policies and access controls.
  • Expert level experience in Eclipse, HANA Studio and HANA Cockpit, including role creation and development, content import/export via HANA Studio, and promoting changes across the HDB landscape.
  • Knowledgeable of web services based on SAP Netweaver, SAP interfaces, SAP solutions.
  • Knowledge and expertise with emerging technologies such as S/4 HANA, Cloud, Mobility, and IOT.

General Qualifications

  • 8+ years in IT management, with a background in ITIL or similar foundational technology platform discipline.
  • 10+ years of SAP experience, preferably in a global implementation of SAP FS-RI, FS-CD and FICO modules.
  • 7+ years experience as an ABAP Developer, or BASIS administrator.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated, Team player, committed, able to work independently, and able to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Good problem-solving skills, able to prioritize objectives among many conflicting needs.
  • Capable to advocate a course of action and pursue it consistently, but flexible and responsive to dynamic situations.
  • Experience with the creation and enforcement of production operation methodologies.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science; masters degree preferred.
  • SAP Certifications and/or at least 7+ years experience.

Special Requirements

Hybrid 3 days onsite. Multiple locations: Purchase, NY; New York City, NY; Morristown, NJ; Charlotte, NC; Conshohocken, PA.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $110,000 – $150,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Charlotte, NC
