About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our infrastructure and platform engineering team. In this role, you will own the design, deployment, and operation of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-native systems on AWS. You will work closely with application engineers, security, and DevOps teams to build the backbone that powers our production workloads with a strong focus on Kubernetes orchestration, AWS core services, and automation.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who thrives in complex, fast-moving environments and brings both architectural thinking and deep implementation experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS using services including EKS, KMS, S3, EC2, IAM, VPC, RDS, and CloudWatch.
  • Architect and manage Kubernetes clusters (Amazon EKS), including node group management, workload scheduling, autoscaling, networking (CNI, ingress), and cluster upgrades.
  • Build and maintain secure, reusable infrastructure using Terraform writing modular, version-controlled IaC for environments across dev, staging, and production.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, or equivalent) to automate build, test, deployment, and rollback workflows.
  • Enforce cloud security best practices KMS key management, IAM least-privilege policies, secrets management, encryption at rest and in transit, and audit logging.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and cost using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and alerting frameworks; drive incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Automate operational tasks and infrastructure configuration using Python and Groovy/ scripting.
  • Collaborate with application teams to define cloud architecture patterns, review infrastructure pull requests, and establish engineering standards.
  • Drive cloud cost optimization efforts through right-sizing, reserved capacity planning, and resource lifecycle management.
  • Mentor junior cloud and DevOps engineers, lead architecture reviews, and contribute to evolving cloud best practices across the organization.

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS core services:
  • Amazon EKS – cluster provisioning, managed node groups, Fargate profiles, RBAC, pod security
  • AWS KMS – key policies, envelope encryption, key rotation, integration with S3/EBS/Secrets Manager
  • Amazon S3 – bucket policies, versioning, lifecycle rules, replication, VPC endpoints, encryption
  • EC2, IAM, VPC, RDS, CloudWatch, Lambda, API Gateway, Route 53
  • Deep Kubernetes expertise – production cluster operations, Helm chart development, network policies, persistent storage, horizontal/vertical pod autoscaling, and multi-tenant workload management.
  • Proven experience designing and managing secure, production-grade cloud architectures at scale.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles – identity management, network segmentation, data protection, and compliance frameworks.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Terraform – writing modular IaC, managing state (remote backends, workspaces), and enforcing policy-as-code with Sentinel or OPA.
  • CI/CD experience – building and maintaining pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or ArgoCD for automated deployments and GitOps workflows.
  • Python scripting – automating infrastructure tasks, building internal tooling, Lambda functions, and cloud operations scripts.
  • Groovy/ scripting – Jenkins pipeline DSL, Bash automation for deployment and operational workflows.

What You’ll Bring

  • 6+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps roles with at least 3 years focused on AWS.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience in production environments (EKS preferred).
  • Strong communication skills – able to explain architectural trade-offs clearly to both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with a collaborative, ownership-driven mindset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field – or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Certifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
  • HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
