About the Role
ERP Initiatives Group is urgently seeking a seasoned SAP PP/QM Solution Architect for a critical engagement with a leading Food Processing enterprise in Minneapolis, MN. This is a high-visibility, architect-level role requiring deep hands-on expertise across Production Planning and Quality Management – with a strong understanding of food industry-specific compliance, batch traceability, and manufacturing execution requirements.
The right candidate will own the end-to-end solution design, lead functional workshops, and serve as the go-to authority for all PP/QM decisions throughout the program lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture for SAP PP and QM modules in a food processing environment
- Drive blueprinting, fit-gap analysis, and solution design workshops with business and IT stakeholders
- Design and oversee batch management, shelf-life management, and GR/GI quality inspection processes
- Architect integration points between PP/QM and MM, WM/EWM, SD, and Plant Maintenance
- Define quality inspection plans, control charts, SPC, and certificate of analysis (CoA) workflows
- Lead Recipe Management, Process Orders, and MRP/MPS configuration and optimization
- Provide hands-on S/4HANA configuration support and validate functional specifications
- Mentor and guide junior consultants and client team members
- Collaborate with the program manager and client leadership on delivery milestones and risk mitigation
- Support UAT, cutover planning, and hypercare activities
What You Bring
- 15+ years of SAP PP/QM experience with a minimum of 3 full lifecycle S/4HANA implementations
- Architect-level expertise – you have led programs, not just participated in them
- Deep food & beverage or food processing industry experience is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of batch traceability, shelf-life management, and FDA/FSMA compliance considerations
- Hands-on experience with Recipe Management, Process Industries (PI), and Discrete Manufacturing
- Solid understanding of QM integration with Vendor Evaluation, Batch Classification, and UD workflows
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA 2020/2021/2023 and Fiori-based QM/PP transactions
- Strong communication skills – able to present to C-suite and work alongside shop floor teams
- SAP certification in PP or QM is a strong plus
- Ability to travel to Minneapolis, MN up to 20% of the time as needed
Nice to Have
- Experience with SAP MES integration or Manufacturing Execution Systems
- Familiarity with EWM/WM for food cold chain and warehouse-quality integration
- Prior experience with cGMP, HACCP, or food safety regulatory frameworks within SAP
- Exposure to SAP BTP or embedded analytics for PP/QM dashboards
