Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Network Operation/Engineer L3 for an urgent hiring need. This is a 100% onsite contract role based in Waltham, MA. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of hands-on WAN networking support experience, with at least 3 years at the L3 (Level-3) support level. Expertise in Cisco routing and switching, wireless technologies (Aruba), and SD-WAN is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L3 support for complex network operations, including LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN environments.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco routing and switching infrastructure (e.g., BGP, OSPF, STP, VLANs, EtherChannel).
  • Manage and troubleshoot firewall and load balancer infrastructure (e.g., Zscaler, F5).
  • Support and manage wireless network infrastructure (Cisco WLAN, Aruba WLAN, Aruba Central, etc.).
  • Implement and maintain network security best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve network-related issues.
  • Ensure network performance, availability, and reliability.
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Stay updated with the latest networking technologies and industry trends.

Technical Skills Required

  • LAN/WAN and SD-WAN:
    • Minimum 10 years of hands-on WAN Networking Support Experience.
    • At least 3 years of L3 (Level-3) experience.
    • In-depth working knowledge at L3 of Cisco LAN, WAN, SD-WAN (CISCO Viptela highly desirable), and data center infrastructure.
    • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches.
    • Expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
    • Experience with carrier WAN and Internet offerings, and cloud network services.
    • Knowledge of firewalls, Zscaler, and load balancers (F5).
  • Wireless:
    • Thorough knowledge of WiFi network infrastructure.
    • In-depth knowledge of Wireless LAN solutions (Cisco WLAN, Cisco ISE, Aruba WLAN, Aruba Clearpass, Aruba Central, Aruba Naas) and private 5G (e.g., Celona).
    • Understanding of software-defined networking.

Certifications (Desirable)

  • Cisco CCNP/CCIE Routing and Switching certification.
  • Cisco CCIE Wireless / Aruba Expert Level (ACMX, ACDX, ACCX) certification.
  • Certified Wireless Networking Professional (CWNP) and Certified Wireless Security Professional (CWSP).

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $80,000 – $130,000 per year (Estimated)
