Job Summary:

We are seeking a Database Administrator with extensive experience in Software AG products, ADABAS, and Natural to join the State of Mississippi team. This is a critical role requiring 100% onsite presence in Jackson, MS, for a 6+ month contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analyzing user requirements, testing, implementing, and performing quality assurance of information systems. Experience with Linux/zLinux, COBOL/CICS, and modernizing legacy applications is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide the minimum required skills and/or experience the contractor must possess to qualify for this position.
  • Analyze user requirements and designs along with testing, implementing, and performing quality assurance of information systems utilizing Natural One, ADABAS, MVS/JCL, COBOL/CICS, VSAM files, Linux/zLinux, Espsoft/SCL, Informix, and UNIX.
  • Advise on system architecture, and develop, maintain, and update documentation for procedures, policies, and processes.
  • Possess knowledge and experience of SNAP, TANF, eligibility, economic assistance, and child welfare policies and procedures, and implement state and federal mandates in Linux systems.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Ten years of experience with Software AG products, ADABAS, Natural, Natural One, Predict, Construct, ADABAS Replication, Treehouse tcVision, WebMethods EntireX, CONNX SQL gateway, ApplinX, Natural AJAX.
  • Ten years of experience analyzing user requirements and designs along with testing, implementing, and performing quality assurance of information systems utilizing Natural One, ADABAS, MVS/JCL, COBOL/CICS, VSAM files, Linux/zLinux, Espsoft/SCL, Informix, and UNIX.
  • Three years of experience advising on system architecture, and developing, maintaining, and updating documentation for procedures, policies, and processes.
  • Two years of knowledge and experience of SNAP, TANF, eligibility, economic assistance, and child welfare policies and procedures, and implementing state and federal mandates in Linux systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Jira and KACE ITSM systems
  • Experience with SCRUM/iteration methodologies
  • Experience modernizing legacy applications
  • Experience with child welfare workflows and systems and related federal requirements

Special Requirements

100% onsite from Day 1. Must be local to Jackson, MS with a Driver's License (DL). USC/GC only. Interview Mode: Skype. Experience with child welfare workflows and systems is preferred.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $80,000 – $110,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Jackson, MS
