Job Summary:

Our Fortune 500 client is seeking a skilled Healthcare Mainframe Technical Analyst for a long-term hybrid project in Columbia, SC. This role is crucial for bridging the gap between business programs and the IT organization, providing technical solutions to meet user needs within the healthcare domain. The analyst will be responsible for developing reports, performing operational support for legacy MMIS and subsystems, and translating business needs into technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between business programs and the IT organization to provide technical solutions.
  • Develop, retrieve, and distribute reports and datasets for monitoring, reconciliation, and operational processing.
  • Perform operational support activities for legacy MMIS and subsystems.
  • Respond to requests and inquiries from business stakeholders.
  • Monitor vendor requests and coordinate between business and technical staff.
  • Identify trending issues and escalate to program management.
  • Translate business requests and needs into system requirements and technical requests.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for content, processes, and procedures related to MMIS.
  • Perform complex analysis, design, and testing to meet user needs for MMIS and its subsystems.
  • Review and verify QA and UA results, documenting issues and defects for resolution.
  • Proactively identify risks, issues, and action items, proposing solutions.
  • Interact with internal and external organizations, including vendors, State and Federal government agencies, and State providers.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years of Medicaid or healthcare experience (experience with Medicaid claims and provider operations concepts is essential).
  • Proficient in COBOL programming language.
  • 3 years of experience operating healthcare Mainframe systems for payers as a technical analyst or in related duties.
  • At least 3 years of experience with EDI transactions, including managing companion guides.
  • Experience working with a Medicaid eligibility and/or enrollment information system in an operations capacity.
  • Understanding of MMIS capabilities and intricacies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Subject Matter Expertise as it relates to MMIS Operations.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., SAS, Excel, data visualization tools, statistical analysis software).
  • Experience providing status reports and other technical or operational reports clearly and concisely.

Required Education/Certification:

3+ years of equivalent experience in systems analysis and/or computer systems development/modification may be substituted.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $80,000 – $130,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Columbia, SC
