Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AI Lead to drive the identification and implementation of high-leverage AI use cases within the Healthcare/Clinical/Lifesciences domain. This role will focus on targeting opportunities across Data Science operations, including technical knowledge retrieval, investigation support, documentation acceleration, operational insights, exception triage, and capacity/coordination decision support. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of clinical trial services and operations, with the ability to translate complex work into deployable AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify high-leverage use cases: Target opportunities across DS operations (technical knowledge retrieval, investigation support, documentation acceleration, operational insights, exception triage, capacity/coordination decision support).
- Build prototypes and deliver MVPs: Create working solutions using AWS/Databricks/Dataiku/OpenAI, integrating operational data and documents into usable workflows.
- Data readiness and integration: Assess data availability and quality; define data requirements and influence data acquisition strategies (standard sources, access patterns, reusable pipelines).
- Roadmap ownership: Produce a capability roadmap with clear milestones, dependencies, and impact metrics.
- Balance quick wins vs foundations: Deliver immediate business value while shaping patterns that will scale as the enterprise platform matures (reusable assets, integration standards, evaluation/monitoring, agent orchestration approaches).
- Vision and transition plan: Define the AI north star and a staged path from Proofs of Concept (POCs) to reusable capabilities and scaled delivery.
- Drive ChatGPT adoption: Build prompt libraries, playbooks, and training materials tailored to real Data Science work; measure usage and outcomes.
- Stay current and apply responsibly: Keep pace with AI advancements and translate them into practical, controlled, high-impact solutions suitable for client environments.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of clinical trial services/operations (or adjacent clinical operations workflows) and the ability to translate work into deployable AI solutions.
- Hands-on capability building production-minded prototypes using Python/SQL; AWS; Databricks and/or Dataiku; OpenAI.
- Applied Generative AI (GenAI) experience, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), evaluation techniques, guardrails, workflow integration, and adoption enablement.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence as a senior individual contributor.
- Demonstrated ability to balance immediate business outcomes with long-term scalable capability building.
Nice to Have Qualifications:
- Experience working with privacy/security constraints and controlled documents in clinical contexts.
- Experience supporting globally distributed operational teams.
- Practical GxP awareness and experience operating with controlled documents/data access.
