Role Overview:
The Mechanical Design Specialist is crucial for the mechanical development of our device. We are seeking a driven and hands-on designer to generate essential documents and prototypes. This role demands excellence, creativity, and strong collaboration due to the complex nature of dialysis systems and the stringent medical device regulatory environment.
Responsibilities:
- Create and modify CAD models using Solidworks.
- Generate mechanical drawings with appropriate Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Create assemblies and maintain accurate bills of materials (BOM).
- Generate and manage engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Develop prototypes and evaluate mechanical designs.
- Perform CAD administration, including Product Data Management (PDM).
- Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and company procedures.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Extensive CAD experience, with a mandatory requirement for Solidworks proficiency.
- Familiarity with process and data management; PDM/PLM experience is required.
- Must be detail-oriented, collaborative, and maintain a high standard of work.
Education & Experience:
- Required: Associate degree in engineering or technology. Minimum of 5 years of CAD/PDM/PLM design experience.
- Preferred: 10+ years of experience in mechanical design. Experience with 3D printing. Experience with SolidWorks/PDM configuration and administration. Certified SolidWorks Professional.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $80,000 – $120,000 per year (Estimated)
