Job Summary:
Scalable Systems Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Cloud Lead & Data Center SME for a 6+ month W2 contract role. This position is primarily onsite in Culver City, CA, with a pay range of up to $85/hr. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving enterprise infrastructure strategy across both cloud and on-premise environments. This role demands leadership in cloud transformation initiatives, optimization of data center operations, and ensuring high availability, scalability, and security across hybrid infrastructure landscapes.
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Cloud Lead & Data Center SME to drive enterprise infrastructure strategy across cloud and on-premise environments. This role focuses on leading cloud transformation initiatives, optimizing data center operations, and ensuring high availability, scalability, and security across hybrid infrastructure landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement cloud and data center strategies aligned with business goals.
- Act as SME for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-prem infrastructure.
- Lead infrastructure design, deployment, and optimization initiatives.
- Drive innovation and adoption of emerging cloud technologies.
- Oversee day-to-day data center operations including monitoring, maintenance, and incident management.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Lead complex troubleshooting, performance optimization, and capacity planning efforts.
- Manage vendor relationships and service contracts for infrastructure components.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and stakeholders for successful delivery.
- Implement automation using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting tools (Python, Power, Bash).
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards (ISO, SOC, GDPR).
- Support large-scale cloud migration and transformation programs.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in cloud and data center leadership roles.
- Strong expertise in Windows, Citrix, VMware, and Nutanix environments.
- Experience with Linux administration and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Strong understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Deep knowledge of data center technologies including networking, storage, virtualization, and compute.
- Experience with cloud migration, integration, and hybrid cloud strategies.
- Expertise in disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity planning.
- Strong experience in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes including incident, problem, and change management.
- Awareness of compliance and security standards such as ISO, SOC, and GDPR.
- Strong scripting skills using Python, Power, or Bash.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Exposure to AI/ML workloads in cloud environments.
- Experience with edge computing or hyper-converged infrastructure.
- Experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects including budgeting and resource planning.
- Familiarity with DevOps and Agile methodologies in infrastructure teams.
- Knowledge of CloudFormation or additional automation tools.
