Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Analyst (BA) with CBAP certification to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, providing leadership throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This is an onsite position requiring immediate presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the project manager, ITS manager, technical team members, and other project stakeholders to provide leadership throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Act as a liaison to stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to elicit, analyze, communicate, validate, and verify requirements for complex changes to current business processes, policies, and information systems, as well as for the development of new ones.
  • Create ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ business process flows to ensure that the implemented business process and supporting software meet OMH needs.
  • Conduct requirements workshops and Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with OMH SMEs as one of the many techniques to elicit requirements.
  • Create comprehensive business requirements documents (BRD), context diagrams, system ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ states, system specifications, use cases, workflow diagrams, report and screen mockups, swim lane diagrams, and prototypes.
  • Provide the development team with clearly articulated artifacts and ensure their understanding.
  • Ensure that artifacts required by the ITS governance process and Secure Systems Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) are created and support the project scope.
  • Manage requirements throughout the life of the contract using a requirements management plan and traceability to ensure coverage between the source of each requirement and the test case(s) it will be tested by.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 84 months of experience performing analysis by eliciting and analyzing stakeholders’ business needs using a variety of analysis techniques, including but not limited to JAD sessions, requirement elicitation sessions, conducting interviews, creating user stories, documenting ‘As Is’ and ‘To Be’ documents and diagrams, and converting them into verified and validated functional and non-functional requirements for development.
  • 84 months of experience creating and maintaining software development artifacts for communication of requirements, including context diagrams, textual use cases, swim lane diagrams, report specifications, wireframes, user interface specifications, and non-functional requirements specifications.
  • 84 months of experience facilitating requirement workshops, JAD sessions, and structured walkthroughs, practicing effective communication to ensure requirements are understood, conveyed, and met.
  • 72 months of experience creating test plans/cases, managing defects with development teams, and working with users on User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • 72 months of experience managing requirements throughout the Requirements Management Lifecycle, including creation and execution of a Requirements Management Plan, requirements traceability, establishing requirements baselines, and managing requirements change control.
  • 36 months of experience working on various applications within healthcare, including but not limited to patient records, billing and finance, and human resources.
  • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) certification by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Compensation & Location

Salary: $60 – $80 per year (Estimated)

Location: Albany, NY
