Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer in Test with 4 to 9 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing and automating Java applications, including event-driven microservices. This role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test both the front end and back end of a Java system.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts for backend services using tools like RestAssured or similar.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts for frontend applications using Selenium with relevant plugins, or other UI automation tools like Playwright or Karate.
  • Test Angular applications and JavaScript/TypeScript code.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve defects.
  • Work in an Agile development environment, participating in all team ceremonies.
  • Utilize SQL for data validation and testing.
  • Test RESTful web services.
  • Use Git for version control.
  • Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Test applications deployed in cloud-based environments, preferably AWS.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues, providing detailed reports.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and tools.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4 to 9 years of experience in software testing and automation.
  • Proven experience testing Java applications, including event-driven microservices.
  • Strong experience with backend testing, including web services and automation tools (e.g., RestAssured).
  • Strong experience with frontend testing, including Angular, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Experience with UI test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Karate.
  • Proficiency in SQL for database testing.
  • Experience testing RESTful web services.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  • Experience with cloud-based testing environments (AWS preferred).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with web service testing tools like JMeter.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.

Additional Information

  • This is a 12-month contract position.
  • Interviews will be conducted via Skype.
  • Candidate experience must be US-based.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $70,000 – $120,000 per year
