Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Mainframe Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and support mainframe databases. This role involves monitoring health and performance, maintaining security and user access, running backups and recovery, tuning performance, and resolving incidents to ensure reliable day-to-day operations. The position is a long-term contract and is fully remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support mainframe databases (BM Db2 for z/OS).
- Monitor database health and performance.
- Maintain database security and user access controls.
- Perform regular backups and recovery operations.
- Tune database performance for optimal efficiency.
- Resolve database-related incidents and ensure system reliability.
- Manage z/OS fundamentals, including backup/recovery and high availability strategies.
Required Qualifications:
- Mainframe DBMS expertise, specifically BM Db2 for z/OS.
- Strong understanding of z/OS fundamentals.
- Experience with backup/recovery procedures.
- Knowledge of high availability solutions for mainframe databases.
- Proficiency in performance tuning of mainframe databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a similar role as a Mainframe DBA.
- Familiarity with various mainframe operating systems and database technologies.
Special Requirements
Employment Type: C2C Contract. Rate: $50/hr c2c MAX. Location: Remote.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $104,000 – $104,000 per year (Estimated)
