Job Title: Middleware Support System Administrator / Integration Administrator
The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a Middleware Support System Administrator to support highly visible enterprise projects. The selected candidate will help deploy and maintain large-scale technical solutions across agencies including MNIT, MNsure, and DHS.
The role requires advanced experience supporting complex enterprise environments and ensuring systems remain secure, highly available, and operational. A key responsibility includes analyzing security vulnerability reports, implementing mitigation strategies, and maintaining middleware and infrastructure systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, configure, deploy, and support IBM middleware products, including:
- WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment (WAS ND)
- IBM HTTP Server
- IBM Business Process Manager (BPM)
- WebSphere Transformation Extender (WTX)
- IBM MQSeries
- IBM Integration Bus (IIB)
- Provide support for custom-developed software systems including:
- TPIN METS systems
- HHS Audit, HHS Content, HHS Notify
- IBM Curam
- Implement and maintain highly available, secure, and recoverable systems using F5 BIG-IP load balancers.
- Create and maintain automated deployment scripts using Jenkins and Ansible.
- Support integration between enterprise applications and Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve middleware, server, and operating system issues.
- Deploy application updates and middleware code to support release cycles.
- Apply fix packs and patches to middleware platforms including WAS, HTTP, BPM, and IIB servers.
- Monitor system performance and ensure adherence to State of Minnesota operational procedures.
- Develop technical architecture and system documentation.
- Provide updates to MNIT, MNsure, and DHS leadership teams.
- Manage small to medium technical projects and provide knowledge transfer.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years experience installing and maintaining Informatica ActiveVOS
- 5+ years experience with IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) / BAW / WebSphere Process Server
- 5+ years experience with IBM Integration Bus (IIB) / App Connect Enterprise / WebSphere Message Broker
- 5+ years experience supporting HHS Integration Software (HHS Content, HHS Notify, HHS Audit)
- 4+ years experience with F5 BIG-IP load balancers
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
- 8+ years experience designing and implementing:
- WebSphere Application Server Network Deploy environments
- IBM messaging software
- IBM business process software
- IBM service bus platforms
- 7+ years experience with Linux administration and scripting
- 6+ years experience integrating IBM Middleware with Oracle Identity and Access Management
- 6+ years experience working with IBM Curam
- 3+ years experience supporting IBM Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM)

Compensation & Location
Salary: $60 – $85 per year (Estimated)
