Job Description: IT Event Management Specialist

We are seeking an experienced IT Event Management Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in event management, with specific experience in tools like Netcool, Moogsoft, and BigPanda. This role is crucial for enhancing our IT operations by improving event correlation, enrichment, and visualization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee IT event management processes to ensure timely and accurate identification and resolution of incidents.
  • Utilize expertise in event management tools such as Netcool, Moogsoft, and BigPanda to monitor system health and performance.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and operational views within monitoring and event platforms to provide clear visibility into system status.
  • Understand the event lifecycle, including detection, correlation, enrichment, and suppression, to reduce noise and focus on critical events.
  • Collaborate with SRE, Observability, and Monitoring engineering teams to translate operational requirements into effective visual outputs and actionable insights.
  • Apply a UI/UX background to design intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for event management tools and dashboards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to event data, tool configurations, and integrations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of event management strategies and practices.
  • Ensure that event management processes align with overall IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Proven experience in Event Management (Netcool, Moogsoft, BigPanda, etc.).
  • Experience building dashboards or operational views in monitoring/event platforms.
  • Strong understanding of event lifecycles, correlation, and enrichment techniques.
  • Ability to translate complex operational requirements into clear and effective visual outputs.
  • UI/UX background to enhance user experience with monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with SRE, Observability, and Monitoring engineering principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Additional Information:

  • This is a W2 position.
  • The role is located in Plano, TX, Pennington, NJ, and Charlotte, NC.
  • The duration is for 12 to 18 months.
  • The mode of interview (MOI) is Skype.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $60,000 – $120,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Plano, TX
