Role: SAP BusinessObjects Administrator

We are seeking a skilled SAP BusinessObjects Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize the SAP BO BI platform (4.x) and SAP Data Services environments. The role focuses on platform stability, performance tuning, security management, and supporting enterprise reporting operations across multiple environments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Platform Administration
    • Install, configure, and upgrade SAP BusinessObjects (BI 4.x) and SAP Data Services (BODS).
    • Administer Central Management Console (CMC).
    • Manage users, groups, roles, and access levels.
    • Perform system health checks, monitoring, and performance tuning.
    • Manage BO and Data Services server processes and services.
  2. Security & Access Management
    • Configure and manage authentication (Active Directory, Enterprise).
    • Provision users and map AD groups to BO roles.
    • Ensure role-based access control and compliance with security standards.
  3. Performance & Troubleshooting
    • Monitor platform performance and troubleshoot issues related to: Web Intelligence (WebI), Scheduling and report execution.
    • Perform weekend maintenance: Cache cleanup, Server restarts / rolling restarts.
    • Analyze logs and coordinate with SAP support for issue resolution.
  4. Scheduling & Publishing
    • Manage report scheduling and publication workflows.
    • Configure and maintain report bursting (Info Burst / native BO).
    • Troubleshoot failed jobs and optimize scheduling performance.
    • Monitor job queues and system capacity.
  5. Change & Incident Management
    • Handle incidents, service requests, and problem management.
    • Participate in change management processes (CRs, RITMs).
    • Support production deployments and releases.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Basis, DB, OS, Network, WAF).
    • Perform routine maintenance: Patch support, System upgrades, Disaster recovery (DR) testing.
    • Support QA, UAT, and Production environments.
  6. Documentation & Compliance
    • Create and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and technical documentation.
    • Ensure platform compliance with audit and security standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Skills
    • Strong experience with SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x.
    • Hands-on experience with BO server and SAP Data Services (BODS) architecture.
    • Knowledge of authentication methods (Active Directory, Enterprise).
    • Experience with: Scheduling and publications, Report bursting.
    • Working knowledge of Windows Server environments.
    • Basic understanding of databases: SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 per year
