Job Summary:

We are seeking a Product Owner with experience in the Media & Entertainment industry, specifically supporting productions, media, and ideally streaming companies. This role requires a strong sense of urgency and the ability to solve problems quickly, mirroring the fast-paced nature of production environments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing multiple, simultaneous efforts across various productions and stakeholder teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and prioritize product backlog items, including user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on product vision and strategy.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the development team, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
  • Drive product innovation and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities and translating them into actionable product enhancements.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular updates on product progress.
  • Ensure the product meets quality standards and delivers value to the business and end-users.
  • Champion Agile methodologies and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years in Product Management / Product Owner roles within the Media & Entertainment industry.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting productions, media, and streaming companies.
  • Proven ability to work with a sense of urgency and solve problems quickly.
  • Experience managing multiple, simultaneous efforts across various productions and teams of stakeholders.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience writing effective user stories.
  • Proficient in Agile methodologies, not just ceremonies, but also in challenging stakeholders, asking powerful questions, and bringing a sense of curiosity.
  • Agile certification (e.g., CSM) is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC and production workflows.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).

Compensation & Location

Salary: $120,000 – $170,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Culver City, CA
