About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accessibility Program Lead to spearhead our accessibility initiatives. This role is critical in building and leading a scalable, cross-functional accessibility program that aligns with our healthcare mission. You will be responsible for defining and tracking key success metrics, such as audit pass rates and issue remediation SLAs, and embedding accessibility into our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes, from initial requirements gathering through to final deployment.
You will act as the primary point of contact for accessibility, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, UX, QA, and Compliance teams to prioritize accessibility work. As the go-to subject matter expert (SME), you will provide guidance on accessibility-related standards, tools, and decision-making. Collaboration with Legal and Regulatory teams will be essential to manage accessibility risks and ensure readiness. This role also involves coordinating accessibility audits, recommending and operationalizing remediation strategies, and overseeing the use of various accessibility testing tools.
Furthermore, you will lead accessibility training sessions for teams across product, engineering, and design, fostering an internal culture of accessibility awareness and continuous improvement. Building and maintaining a network of accessibility champions within teams will be a key aspect of driving adoption and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a scalable, cross-functional accessibility program aligned with our healthcare mission.
- Define and track success metrics (e.g. audit pass rates, issue remediation SLAs).
- Embed accessibility into SDLC processes, from requirements to deployment.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, UX, QA, and Compliance to prioritize accessibility work.
- Serve as the go-to subject matter expert (SME) for accessibility-related standards, tools, and decision-making.
- Collaborate with Legal and Regulatory teams to manage accessibility risk and readiness.
- Coordinate accessibility audits (manual and automated) across web, mobile, and third-party platforms.
- Recommend and operationalize remediation strategies in collaboration with dev and QA teams.
- Oversee procurement and use of tools like Axe, WAVE, JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.
- Lead accessibility training sessions for teams across product, engineering, and design.
- Foster an internal culture of accessibility awareness and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain a network of accessibility champions within teams.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in digital accessibility, product development, or program management.
- Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA, Section 508, and digital health accessibility challenges.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and accessibility testing tools.
- Demonstrated success leading large, cross-functional initiatives in a tech or healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex standards into actionable guidance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in regulated industries, especially healthcare or MedTech.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA and its implications for UX/accessibility.
- Accessibility certification (IAAP CPACC, WAS, or CPWA preferred).
- Experience influencing or building inclusive design systems.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $110,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
