Role Overview
As an AI Architect in 2026, you will be responsible for the high-level design and strategic implementation of artificial intelligence solutions on the Google Cloud Platform. This onsite role in Hartford, CT, requires a visionary leader who can bridge the gap between complex business requirements and cutting-edge AI technologies. You will lead the transition from traditional machine learning models to Generative AI and Agentic AI architectures, ensuring that our enterprise remains competitive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Core Responsibilities
- Define the architectural roadmap for AI initiatives, focusing on scalability, security, and cost-efficiency within the GCP ecosystem.
- Lead the implementation of Generative AI solutions using Vertex AI, including fine-tuning large language models (LLMs) and deploying them at scale.
- Architect complex data pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub to support real-time AI inference and model training.
- Design and oversee the development of Agentic AI systems that utilize LangChain and LangGraph for multi-agent orchestration.
- Establish MLOps and LLMOps best practices, including automated CI/CD pipelines for model deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
- Implement advanced RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures using vector databases and embeddings to enhance model accuracy and grounding.
- Ensure all AI solutions adhere to enterprise security standards, including IAM, KMS, and data privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders, to deliver high-value AI products.
Industry Impact and Strategy
In the context of Hartford’s robust financial and insurance sector, the AI Architect role is critical for maintaining regulatory compliance while pushing the boundaries of innovation. You will be responsible for designing ‘sovereign AI’ solutions that keep sensitive data within protected boundaries while still leveraging the power of global LLMs. This involves implementing complex ‘guardrail’ layers that filter inputs and outputs for PII, bias, and toxicity. Additionally, you will lead the charge in ‘Model Evaluation as a Service,’ creating internal tools that allow business units to test and validate AI models against their specific domain requirements before deployment. The integration of BigQuery as a central feature store and vector repository will be a key part of your strategy, enabling seamless transitions between analytical queries and semantic searches. Your leadership will ensure that the organization doesn’t just adopt AI, but builds a sustainable, scalable, and ethical AI foundation for the next decade.
Required Skills and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in software architecture and data engineering, with a significant focus on AI/ML.
- Expertise in Google Cloud Platform services, specifically Vertex AI and BigQuery.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, and Spring Boot for building microservices.
- Proven track record of deploying production-grade AI models in a cloud environment.
- Deep understanding of neural network architectures, including Transformers, and frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Special Requirements
Visa: GC or USC status required (Passport Number mandatory). 10+ years of experience required. Onsite role in Hartford, CT. Interview via Phone and Webex.
