Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and passionate AI Engineer / Applied AI Developer to join our team. This role requires strong hands-on development skills with a focus on building AI-powered proof-of-concepts and exploring cutting-edge AI capabilities. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, research-driven environment, possess excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and have a solid foundation in Python programming. Experience with large language models (LLMs) is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement AI solutions, focusing on proof-of-concepts and exploring new AI technologies.
- Utilize strong Python programming skills for AI development.
- Work with large language models (LLMs), including prompt engineering and function calling.
- Integrate APIs and manage structured and unstructured data.
- Collaborate with a team in a development environment using Git.
- Build working proof-of-concepts quickly and efficiently.
- Contribute to research and development efforts in artificial intelligence.
Must-Have Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Java.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Python.
- Proven ability to rapidly build working proof-of-concepts.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with prompt engineering and function calling in LLMs.
- Experience integrating APIs and handling structured/unstructured data.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development environments.
Nice-to-Have Technical Skills:
- Prior experience building Agentic AI solutions, conversational AI chatbots, or summarization tools.
- Experience with OpenAI or similar LLM frameworks.
- Familiarity with Streamlit, FastAPI, or Flask for building UI/demo tools.
Job Requirements:
- This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days a week in our Farmington Hills, MI office. This will transition to 4 days a week starting in the summer of 2026.
- Face-to-face interaction is expected.
- Passion for artificial intelligence and exploring new AI capabilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 per year (Estimated)
