Position Overview
The AI Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) role in Charlotte, NC, represents a cutting-edge opportunity at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Quality Engineering. Core Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain sophisticated automation frameworks using Python to support functional and API-based testing across the full solution stack.
- Implement shift-left testing strategies, ensuring that quality is integrated from the earliest stages of the software development lifecycle to prevent defect leakage into production.
- Analyze AI paradigms and models to identify potential risks, including bias, drift, and performance degradation, ensuring that AI implementations meet enterprise standards.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Docker, and AWS services like Lambda and S3.
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies, providing technical feedback on merge requests and architectural designs to maintain high code quality.
- Utilize SQL for complex data queries to validate data integrity and consistency within AI-driven applications and backend databases.
- Create mocks and virtual services to facilitate isolated testing of solution stacks, reducing dependencies on external systems during the development phase.
- Adopt and enhance enterprise quality requirements and core processes to align with the organization’s long-term technology roadmap.
Technical Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in testing automation engineering with a strong focus on Python and API-based testing.
- Preferred Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience with end-to-end test script writing and the automation of tests across complex solution stacks.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure, specifically services such as S3 and Lambda, and their integration into automated testing workflows.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD technologies, including GIT, GitLab, and Docker, to support continuous delivery.
- Deep understanding of AI paradigms, models, and the specific risks associated with machine learning implementations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback on Merge/Pull Requests.
- Previous experience within the financial services technology sector is highly desirable, as it provides the necessary context for regulatory and security constraints.

Salary: $135,000 – $175,000 per year
