Role Overview
The AI Software Engineer will be a pivotal member of the engineering team in Redmond, WA, focusing on the integration and deployment of cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence solutions within the Azure ecosystem. This role requires a deep understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and the ability to build scalable, production-grade applications using Azure AI Foundry and Azure OpenAI Services. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) patterns and ensuring that AI agents are effectively orchestrated using frameworks like Semantic Kernel or the Microsoft Agent Framework. This position is specifically tailored for individuals who have previously contributed to Microsoft projects, particularly those within the PST time zone, ensuring a seamless integration into the existing cultural and technical workflows of the client.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI-driven applications using C# and the .NET framework, leveraging over 5 years of professional experience in backend development.
- Implement and optimize LLM development patterns, including fine-tuning models and advanced prompt engineering to meet specific business requirements.
- Utilize Azure PaaS services such as App Services, Function Apps, and Azure SQL to build robust infrastructure for AI workloads.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Azure AI Studio/Foundry capabilities into existing Microsoft projects.
- Develop and maintain orchestration frameworks to manage complex AI agent interactions.
- Ensure high performance and responsiveness of applications by applying best practices in cloud computing and data management (ADLS).
- Architect and deploy Large Language Models (LLMs) using Azure OpenAI Service and Azure AI Studio, managing token usage and ensuring low-latency responses.
- Develop sophisticated RAG pipelines, managing the entire data lifecycle from ingestion into Azure Data Lake Storage to vectorization.
Technical Requirements
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and its suite of AI services including Azure AI Studio and Azure OpenAI.
- Proven track record of working on Microsoft-specific projects, particularly as a former Microsoft contractor or employee (PST experience).
- Strong proficiency in C# and .NET Core with at least 5 years of hands-on experience.
- Working knowledge of LLM development patterns such as RAG, fine-tuning, and prompt engineering.
- Experience with agent/orchestration frameworks like Semantic Kernel, Microsoft Agent Framework, or LangChain.
- Familiarity with Azure PaaS services including App Services, Function Apps, and Azure SQL.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,200 – $185,000 per year
