Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Application Developer with strong C programming skills and mandatory Healthcare Domain experience. This is a 100% remote role with a pay rate of $55/hr on C2C.
Responsibilities
- Code, test, debug, implement, and document programs.
- Assist in modifying company products and/or customer/internal systems to meet client and end-user needs.
- Gather information from systems, analyze program and time requirements, and prepare documentation for changes to existing programs.
- Research and analyze existing systems and program requirements under periodic supervision.
- Analyze, design, and review application designs to ensure customer specifications are met.
- Create complex design documents and translate them into component-level designs to accelerate development.
- Utilize experience in development methodologies, coding documentation, testing methodology, and industry standards to define and develop project requirements, functional specifications, and detailed design of application solutions for clients.
- Apply Gainwell and 3rd party technologies to software solutions of moderate to advanced complexity.
- Develop strategy, design, and data gathering approaches.
- Design programs for projects or enhancements to existing programs.
- Write specifications for programs of moderate complexity.
- Assist in resolving production support problems.
- Develop and suggest alternative approaches to resolving problems.
- Develop test plans to verify the logic of new or modified programs and identify issues as appropriate.
- Develop and execute regression testing strategies.
- Create, maintain, and update technical documentation such as design and testing documents.
- Conduct quality assurance activities such as peer reviews.
- Stay abreast of and research industry technical trends and new developments to maintain current skills and remain current with industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in applications development and batch programming.
- Proficiency in C programming, including experience with performance optimization, memory management, and debugging.
- Strong SQL skills, preferably using embedded C with an Oracle database.
- Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix environments, including scripting, process management, and file systems.
- Experience with SOAP and RESTful interfacing.
- Experience with JSON.
- Experience with Visual Studio Code or other IDEs, including debugger tools.
- Experience with TFS, Git, or other version control systems.
- Healthcare and Medicare systems experience is highly desired.
- General understanding of Medicaid, HIPAA, and PHI.
- Experience with Medicaid claims adjudication.
- Advanced understanding of testing tools, unit test scripting, and testing methodologies.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, software engineering, computer science, or related field preferred.
- Three or more years of product design and support experience.
- Experience working with software design, software development life cycle, and development methodologies and implementation.
- Experience working with product systems design principles.
- Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems, hardware, and software.
- Experience working with company application development policies and procedures.
Other Qualifications
- Analytical, problem-solving, creative thinking, and design skills at a multiple product level.
- Communication skills to interact with application developers, customers, support personnel, and management.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and switch between tasks quickly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
