Job Description: AS400 SYNON Developer

We are seeking a skilled AS400 SYNON Developer to join our team for an onsite position in New York City, NY. This role requires a strong background in IBM iServer (AS/400) development, specifically with SYNON 2E/ALLFUSION 2E.

  • Role: AS400 SYNON Developer
  • Location: New York City, NY (Local candidates only)
  • Employment Type: Onsite W2
  • Hours: 35 hours per week
  • Key Technologies: SYNON 2E/ALLFUSION 2E, RPG (ILE and free form), CL, Query, IFS, IBM iServer (v5r4)
  • Experience: 3-5 years of qualified systems development experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide All Fusion 2E programming and support for IBM iServer application systems development and maintenance projects.
  • Design, implement, and maintain application systems.
  • Develop systems solutions for complex business problems, working with users and I/S personnel.
  • Perform project leadership on a limited basis, technical design, programming, and unit testing.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Play a team role in systems design decisions, including functionality, architecture, and databases.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of common application development software.
  • Develop a thorough operational and functional understanding of assigned systems for maintenance.
  • Resolve technical problems affecting production systems and implement production recoveries.

Environment:

  • IBM iServer (v5r4) running core business applications.
  • Integration with a website (L.A.M.P) as an additional user front-end.
  • Occasional use of Microsoft Office Excel and Access for standalone solutions.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • 4-year Information Systems-related Degree or equivalent experience (2-year degree with additional demonstrated experience).
  • IBM System iServer (iSeries AS/400) expertise.
  • CASE Software expertise using AllFusion 2E (formerly SYNON 2/E; Advantage 2E).
  • Proficiency in iServer RPG, CL, FTP, Query, DBU, MKS Implementer (CM for AllFusion 2E), Interactive DeBug.
  • Demonstrated use of Structured Design & Programming methodologies.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • PC expertise using Microsoft Office products, with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Access.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $70 – $90 per year (Estimated)
