Job Title: Automation Quality Engineer I
We are looking for an Automation Quality Engineer I with 2+ years of experience to join our team for a 6-month contract role in Cupertino, CA. This is an onsite position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing manual and automated testing, ensuring product quality, and identifying defects through strong debugging and automation practices. This role requires collaboration with global teams and a proactive approach to quality engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Execute manual and automated test cases. Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts. Perform test planning, design, authoring, and execution. Validate application functionality across multiple environments.
- Debugging & Issue Resolution: Investigate failures in CI/CD pipelines. Conduct root cause analysis and recommend fixes. Escalate and track critical quality issues to resolution. Ensure accurate defect reporting and tracking.
- Collaboration & Communication: Communicate proactively with cross-functional teams. Work with globally distributed teams across time zones. Provide regular updates on testing progress and quality metrics.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer (SDE) or Software Quality Engineer (SQE).
- Hands-on experience with test automation using Swift, Python, Java, or similar languages.
- Strong experience in test planning, test design, and execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Preferred / Ideal Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Apple OS platforms and debugging/profiling tools.
- Experience testing backend services at API or protocol level.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in multi-tiered client-server environments.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Exposure to LLMs or virtual assistants (nice to have).
