- Manual Execution on HIL Benches: A significant portion of the role involves executing test cases manually on Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) benches. This requires a deep understanding of how hardware and software interact in a real-time environment.
- Bug Reporting and Debugging: When issues are identified, you will find, report, and track bugs. You will work closely with cross-functional engineers to perform root cause analysis and debug complex system failures.
- Software Release Testing: You will be a key contributor to the software release process, providing detailed test results and ensuring that all features are validated before deployment.
- Automation Development: To increase efficiency, you will automate manual test cases using a Python-based automation framework, specifically leveraging RobotFramework.
- HIL Platform Management: You will be involved in setting up HIL platforms, which includes managing hardware modules and complex wiring harnesses.
- Data Analysis: You will parse and analyze run data via log files to identify performance trends or intermittent faults.
Required Technical Skills and Experience
- Professional Experience: At least 4+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance (QA) with a focus on Embedded software or firmware development for consumer or automotive products.
- Automotive Domain Expertise: This is a mandatory requirement. You must have experience with ECUs, MCUs, and VCUs, as well as a strong grasp of CAN and UDS protocols.
- System Knowledge: Familiarity with Controls & Propulsion, Power Management, and Fault Management systems is essential.
- Embedded Systems: Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and wireless technologies such as Cellular, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi is highly preferred.
- Hardware Bring-up: Proficiency in hardware bring-up tasks, including device flashing, serial/JTAG debugging, and voltage monitoring.
- Diagnostic Tools: Hands-on experience with industry-standard tools like CANalyzer, PEAK PCAN, Wireshark, and packet generators.
- Operating Systems: Comfort working across multiple platforms, including Mac OS, Linux (Ubuntu), and Windows.
