Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Data Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing scalable data solutions on the AWS cloud platform. This is an onsite position requiring deep expertise in data warehousing, data lakes, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust data architectures on AWS, including data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Develop and manage ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
  • Utilize infrastructure as code tools like CloudFormation or Terraform for managing AWS resources.
  • Ensure data security, compliance, and access control using AWS IAM and other security services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Optimize data storage, processing, and query performance.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers and analysts.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services and data technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or analytics platforms.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Strong expertise in data warehousing and data lake architectures.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data modeling (star/snowflake schemas).
  • Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and orchestration tools.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and big data technologies.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Terraform).
  • Strong knowledge of security, IAM, networking, and compliance in AWS.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred / Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Kafka.
  • Exposure to AWS Lake Formation, Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, Hudi.
  • Knowledge of data quality, metadata management, and lineage tools.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML workloads on AWS (SageMaker).
  • Prior experience in regulated industries (Banking, Healthcare, Telecom, Retail).
  • AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified Database – Specialty).

Compensation & Location

Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
