Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Developer with a robust background in Java/J2EE and Spring Boot to lead critical cloud migration initiatives in Quincy, MA. This position is pivotal for our digital transformation strategy, focusing on transitioning legacy on-premise applications to a modern, scalable, and resilient AWS environment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud architecture and the hands-on technical expertise required to execute complex migrations while maintaining high standards of performance and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications using AWS core services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and DynamoDB.
- Architect and implement microservices-based solutions using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
- Lead the end-to-end migration of enterprise J2EE applications from local data centers to AWS, utilizing strategies such as re-platforming and re-architecting.
- Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using tools like AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or GitLab CI to ensure rapid and reliable software delivery.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost-efficiency, scalability, and high availability following AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, Security, and Product Management, to define technical requirements and architectural standards.
- Implement robust monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions using AWS CloudWatch, X-Ray, and ELK stack to ensure system health.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the full application stack, from infrastructure configuration to application logic.
Technical Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS core services, architecture, and development patterns.
- Strong proficiency in Java/J2EE development with a focus on the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data).
- Proven track record of successful cloud migration projects, specifically moving monolithic applications to microservices in the cloud.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Amazon EKS.
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design, implementation, and documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
