Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced AWS Lead Data Engineer with over 14 years of experience to join our team. This role is critical for designing, developing, and implementing robust data solutions on the AWS platform. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, big data technologies, and cloud-native data services. This is an onsite position requiring local candidates to the Fort Mill, SC area.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of scalable and reliable data pipelines and data warehouses on AWS.
- Develop and implement ETL/ELT processes using various AWS data services (e.g., Glue, EMR, Redshift, S3, Lambda).
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Mentor junior data engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data platforms.
- Optimize data processing performance and reduce costs.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS data technologies and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data architecture, processes, and systems.
Required Qualifications
- 14+ years of experience in data engineering, with a significant focus on AWS cloud environments.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale data solutions.
- Expertise in AWS data services such as AWS Glue, EMR, Redshift, S3, Kinesis, and Lambda.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with various database technologies (relational and NoSQL).
- Experience with data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with big data technologies like Spark, Hadoop, Hive.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or similar certifications.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for data engineering.
Location and Employment Type
This is an onsite position located in Fort Mill, SC. Candidates must be local to the area. This role is structured as a W2 employment opportunity.
