Job Summary:
Envision Technology Solutions is seeking an experienced AWS Python Developer with expertise in the Media & Entertainment Domain for a contract position in New York City, NY. This role requires a candidate with 12+ years of experience to work on a client’s next-generation cloud-based content distribution pipeline in AWS. The developer will be involved in the end-to-end lifecycle, from understanding product goals and roadmaps to solution design, architecture, build, integration, deployment, and support. The primary responsibility will be the full SDLC of a software product that transforms media files and provides content distribution services to clients through a well-defined single point of integration, leveraging the client’s globally distributed media storage and transcoding capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain highly scalable, high-performance, and highly available systems.
- Write well-tested, efficient, and readable code with a focus on reusability.
- Ensure all deliverables follow best practices for source control, CI/CD, and documentation.
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Ensure solutions align with the team’s other deliverables and produce documentation for knowledge sharing.
- Attend and contribute to meetings and complete tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Mandatory Skills: AWS API Gateway, AWS Cloud Architecture, Python
- Required Experience: 12+ years
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of production code experience in Python.
- Familiarity with C is a plus.
- 5+ years of production experience with AWS. Certifications are a big plus.
- Proficiency in designing and interacting with NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB).
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MSSQL, PostgreSQL) is a plus.
- Proficiency in building serverless systems with ephemeral compute (e.g., AWS Lambda, ECS) and orchestration (e.g., AWS Step Functions).
- Proficiency in building event-driven architectures with message queues/topics.
- Proficiency in identifying the applicability of design patterns and implementing them.
- Proficiency using AI-assisted coding tools and agents (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, CoPilot).
- Solid understanding of source control (Git), unit testing, test-driven development, and CI/CD knowledge.
- Knowledge of defining, packaging, and deploying cloud resources in CDK is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of deploying and managing services in Kubernetes is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of building AI apps on platforms such as Bedrock, Vertex AI/Azure AI, and familiarity with frameworks and tools like LangChain, vector databases, PyTorch, TensorFlow is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with the agile process (stand-ups, planning, estimating, and demoing).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with media file container formats and media/video engineering is a plus.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $75 – $95 per year (Estimated)
