Role Overview: AWS Senior Cloud Infrastructure Architect
As we move into 2026, the landscape of cloud computing has evolved from simple migration to complex, AI-driven orchestration. We are seeking a highly seasoned AWS Senior Cloud Infrastructure Architect to lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure cloud environments for our premier client in Plano, Texas. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between application requirements and infrastructure capabilities, ensuring that every deployment follows the AWS Well-Architected Framework. The ideal candidate will possess over a decade of IT experience, with at least five years dedicated specifically to AWS infrastructure setup and management.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Leadership
- Architectural Design: You will be responsible for defining the right-fit architecture for complex applications, utilizing cloud-native design patterns. This includes managing both stateful and stateless application designs to ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaaC): Hands-on experience with Terraform or OpenTofu is mandatory. You will provision and manage infrastructure through code, ensuring consistency across development, staging, and production environments.
- CI/CD and Automation: You will build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions, focusing on automating the entire infrastructure lifecycle—from planning and building to deployment and operation.
- Security and Compliance: A deep understanding of AWS Security is required to meet stringent application compliance requirements. You will implement security best practices, including IAM policies, VPC security groups, and encryption at rest and in transit.
- Strategic Roadmapping: You will collaborate with engineering teams to define technology roadmaps and infrastructure directions, ensuring the organization stays ahead of the curve in cloud innovation.
Technical Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years of overall IT experience with 5+ years of specialized AWS infrastructure expertise.
- Certifications: AWS Certified Solution Architect (Professional level preferred).
- Tools: Proficiency in Terraform, OpenTofu, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and a strong understanding of Pulumi.
- Nice to Have: Experience with AI application/agent development and full-stack development using React and NodeJS.
- Soft Skills: Ability to learn and implement a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools quickly.
This position requires a hybrid presence in Plano, TX, with four days on-site per week. This allows for high-touch collaboration with architecture and infrastructure delivery teams, ensuring consistent solution design and integration. Compensation & Location
Salary: $185,000 – $245,000 per year (Estimated)
