Job Description:
The State of Arizona is seeking a contract IT Low-Code / No-Code (LC/NC) Application Developer/Tester (Mendix) to support software development. The Mendix LC/NC Developer will assist in a highly visible and time-critical application development effort, leveraging the Mendix platform to rapidly deliver secure, scalable, and user-centered solutions. This is an approximately three-month contract position with possible extension.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Business Analysts (BA) with requirements gathering, system design, application development, testing, and implementation using the Mendix low-code platform.
- Participate in design sessions and contribute to the enhancement of operational systems, business processes, and reports.
- Analyze and chart existing business processes to define current-state activities for procedure and application modeling.
- Develop and document future-state business processes, including: business rules, process flow diagrams, inter-department workflows.
- Configure and develop Mendix applications, including: microflows and nanoflows, domain models, UI components and pages, integrations and data sources (as applicable).
- Prepare User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test cases and coordinate UAT activities with business stakeholders.
- Perform data validation and quality assurance activities within Mendix applications.
- Assist in pre-go-live testing efforts and respond promptly to issues that arise.
- Participate in regular status calls and meetings with agency clients and internal project teams.
- Create and maintain project documentation related to development, implementation, and transition phases.
- Ensure the Scrum Master / Project Manager is kept informed of task progress, risks, and action items.
- Troubleshoot application issues and assist with defect resolution.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Low-Code/ No-Code (LC/NC) platforms (Must have on Resume).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Mendix or OutSystems low-code platforms.
- AWS, AZURE, or GCP.
- SQL Database.
- Experience developing, testing, and deploying applications in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with JIRA for backlog management, defect tracking, and sprint planning.
- Experience working as part of a Scrum team (developers, BAs, testers, product owners).
- Experience with SQL Server querying, reporting, and diagnostics.
- Understanding of PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance standards.
- Experience with automated testing tools and methodologies.
- Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to support time-sensitive, high-visibility applications in a public-sector environment.
Special Requirements
Candidates must be local at time of submission and available for in-person interview. Experience with Mendix or OutSystems low-code platforms, AWS, AZURE, or GCP, SQL Database, Agile/Scrum environments, JIRA, PCI compliance, and automated testing tools are preferred.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $55 – $75 per year (Estimated)
