Job ID: JOB_ID_6942
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Azure Architect to lead application and workload migration discovery, assessment, and planning. This role is crucial for driving execution governance by partnering with application owners, security, and operations teams. You will be responsible for collecting technical and business inputs, determining migration readiness, selecting appropriate migration approaches (rehost/refactor/retire/retain), defining migration waves and sequencing, and ensuring all risks, dependencies, and acceptance criteria are clearly understood and managed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end migration discovery: build and validate application inventory, identify owners, capture workload criticality, SLAs, and environment details (production/non-production).
- Perform migration assessments and readiness analysis: dependency mapping, sizing, constraints, licensing considerations, and identification of migration blockers.
- Define migration strategy per workload (e.g., rehost, re-platform, refactor, retire, retain) and produce a clear rationale, risks, and effort assumptions.
- Create migration waves and sequencing plans that account for dependencies, business calendars, and cutover complexity; maintain an integrated migration plan.
- Experience in migrating various Azure services: Virtual Machines, SQL, Storage accounts, etc.
- Experience in implementing High Availability & Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
- Maintain strong documentation discipline: produce assessment outputs, target migration approaches per application, and dependency diagrams.
- Experience defining and running a migration factory operating model (intake, assessment, wave planning, cutover management, and reporting cadence).
- Experience assessing legacy Azure tenants retained for legal hold/retention and defining long-term retention strategies aligned to target platforms.
- Familiarity with the migration of Microsoft Dynamics and Azure Arc.
Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- 8-12 years of experience in Azure architecture and migration.
- Expertise in Azure Subscriptions and Landing Zones Design.
- Deep understanding of Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Azure Well-Architected Framework.
- Proficiency in Azure Migrations – discovery, assessment, dependency analysis, and migration waves.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), Azure Database Migration Service (DMS), AzCopy, or equivalent tools.
- Experience with scripting for discovery/assessment reporting using Power, Azure CLI, and/or Python.
- Familiarity with Azure Monitor, App Insights, Azure DevOps, Github, and Azure Arc.
- Experience implementing High Availability & DR solutions.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Experience with migration of Microsoft Dynamics and Azure Arc.
- Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert and/or Azure Administrator Associate are highly desirable.
