Job Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Business Analyst to support two fast-moving teams within Evercore’s AI, Data & Analytics function: Advanced Data Analytics (ADA) and Enterprise Data Platform. The primary focus of this role is ADA, delivering data science, machine learning, and AI-powered tools. The secondary focus is on the Enterprise Data Platform, providing governed, authoritative data across the firm. This is not a passive documentation role; we are looking for someone who takes ownership of outcomes, arrives at problems with analysis and options already in hand, and thrives in fast-moving, iterative environments.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Data Analytics (Primary)
- Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for ADA’s portfolio of data science, ML, and AI products, working with both front-office stakeholders and the ADA technical team to translate loosely defined or evolving business needs into clear, actionable specs.
- Own UAT planning and execution across ADA product workstreams: build test plans, coordinate testing with business users, triage issues, and drive closure.
- Evaluate product UX and give substantive, actionable feedback on usability.
- Serve as a reliable bridge between the ADA team and the business stakeholders they serve, ensuring both sides stay aligned throughout delivery.
Enterprise Data Platform – Demand Management (Secondary)
- Own and actively maintain the firm’s Data Demand Register – a living, accessible record of business data demand and asset readiness across the firm.
- Run the demand intake workflow: engage bankers and business leaders to surface, structure, and normalize data needs, including when those needs are not yet clearly articulated.
- Keep program stakeholders informed of demand pipeline status and data asset readiness.
- Provide support to the data governance workstream as bandwidth and program needs allow.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst on complex, cross-functional initiatives in financial services.
- Front-office experience in investment banking, capital markets, private equity, venture capital, or hedge funds – candidates should be able to engage credibly with M&A Advisory, capital markets, and shareholder advisory stakeholders from day one.
- Experience supporting the delivery of AI, ML, or data science products – comfortable participating in technical conversations at a conceptual level without being a practitioner.
- Demonstrated excellence in requirements elicitation, including with stakeholders who struggle to articulate their own needs.
- Able to evaluate product UX and give substantive, actionable feedback on usability.
- Genuine familiarity with generative AI tools and a track record of applying or exploring them – whether in professional or personal contexts.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to adapt register for data scientists, engineers, front-office bankers, and senior executives.
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and accountable – you surface problems with analysis and options attached, own outcomes rather than activities, and operate independently with minimal direction in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
Preferred / Additional Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise data programs – data platforms, lakehouses, BI modernization, or data governance.
- Familiarity with Databricks or similar cloud data platforms.
- Experience with BI or data visualization tooling (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
- Proficiency analyzing data with SQL or Python.
Location & Contract Details
This is a hybrid role based in New York, NY, for a duration of 12+ months. Candidates from the New York or New Jersey area are preferred.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $65 – $85 per year (Estimated)
