Job Role: Azure Power BI Engineer
Scalable Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced Azure Power BI Engineer for an onsite contract position in Bellevue, WA. This role is open for both W2 and C2C candidates and requires 10+ years of experience.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Power BI / Azure Data Analyst to design and develop semantic models and interactive dashboards that provide operational insights for team leads and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will integrate data from multiple sources including Azure DevOps and enterprise systems to build scalable reporting solutions. This role involves developing advanced DAX measures, optimizing SQL and KQL queries, managing Power BI datasets and deployment pipelines, and ensuring data governance and security through role-based access control. The candidate will also work with Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse for data ingestion and collaborate with business and technical teams to transform reporting requirements into efficient analytics solutions.
Required Skills:
- 4-6 years of experience in Power BI development and data analytics.
- Strong experience designing Power BI dashboards and semantic data models.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI including DAX measures and calculated columns.
- Experience integrating data from multiple sources such as Azure DevOps and enterprise platforms.
- Strong experience with SQL and PL/SQL for data extraction and transformation.
- Experience writing and optimizing Kusto Query Language (KQL) queries.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and Azure monitoring tools.
- Experience working with Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse or similar data platforms.
- Knowledge of Power BI dataset governance, workspace management, and deployment pipelines.
- Experience implementing role-based access control (RLS) and data security in Power BI.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and cloud environments.
- Proficiency in Windows Power scripting.
- Knowledge of Windows Server environments and compute infrastructure.
- Experience supporting data center discovery and migration initiatives.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder communication skills.
