Job Description: Battery Pack Design Engineer (CAD)

We are seeking a skilled Battery Pack Design Engineer to join our innovative team. This role focuses on designing cutting-edge battery packs and delivering high-quality technical solutions throughout the quotation and development phases. You will collaborate with core and extended cross-functional teams to shape next-generation energy storage solutions and contribute to the development of new design tools, methods, and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design: Define battery pack architecture based on product functions, customer specifications, and manufacturing constraints. Optimize technical and cost trade-offs to deliver best-in-class solutions.
  • Design Studies & Justification: Perform detailed engineering studies including stack-up analysis and mechanical calculations. Integrate simulation results into design validation. Deliver high-quality outputs such as 3D models, 2D drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Component Design: Define functional requirements for components in collaboration with MSDE, Purchasing, CDE, Laboratory teams, and Suppliers. Ensure manufacturability and compliance with design standards.
  • Cross-Functional Innovation: Develop and improve design tools, engineering guidelines, and best practices. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and industry-level innovation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical background.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in CAD tools such as CATIA and UG NX.
    • Solid knowledge of ISO standards (GD&T) and stack-up analysis.
    • Experience with battery pack design & manufacturing processes.
    • Experience with plastic and metallic component design.
    • Experience with thermal management systems.
    • Experience with electronics & electrical harness design.
    • Familiarity with QChecker (CAD quality tool) and PLM systems.
    • Familiarity with Design FMEA.
  • Experience: 5+ Years of relevant experience.
