Job Title: Big Data Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Big Data Engineer to support a leading banking client. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience building scalable data pipelines and working with large-scale financial datasets. This is an onsite role in Phoenix, AZ, requiring 5+ years of experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Big Data technologies.
  • Work with large-scale financial datasets, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Implement batch and real-time data processing solutions.
  • Optimize data lake performance and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Utilize cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) for data engineering tasks.
  • Develop and maintain data models for various banking domains (Risk, Fraud, Payments, Core Banking).
  • Ensure adherence to data governance and security policies.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ Years of Experience: Proven experience as a Big Data Engineer.
  • Strong GCP Experience: Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.
  • Spark: Proficiency in Spark, including PySpark, Scala, or Java.
  • Hadoop Ecosystem: Experience with Hadoop, Hive, and HBase.
  • Real-time Processing: Experience with Kafka for real-time data streaming.
  • Orchestration Tools: Familiarity with Airflow or NiFi.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS and Azure is a plus.
  • Databases: Experience with Oracle, Snowflake, or Teradata.
  • Domain Knowledge: Understanding of Banking Data (Risk, Fraud, Payments, Core Banking).
  • Data Processing: Strong experience in batch and real-time data processing.
  • Data Lake Optimization: Expertise in optimizing data lakes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of GDPR, Basel, and other relevant regulations.
