Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Big Data Engineer to join a leading banking client. This role involves building scalable data pipelines and working with large-scale financial datasets. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a proven track record in big data technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust big data solutions.
  • Build and optimize batch and real-time data processing systems.
  • Implement data lake solutions and ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Work with various big data technologies including Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR and Basel.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines and infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data engineering practices and tools.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ Years of overall experience in Big Data Engineering.
  • 2+ Years of experience specifically within the BFSI/Banking Domain.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Spark (PySpark/Scala/Java).
  • Proficiency in Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, HBase).
  • Experience with real-time data processing using Kafka.
  • Familiarity with workflow management tools like Airflow or NiFi.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms, particularly GCP and AWS.
  • Experience with data warehousing solutions such as Oracle, Snowflake, or Teradata.
  • Knowledge of banking data domains including Risk, Fraud, Payments, and Core Banking.
  • Expertise in batch & real-time data processing, data lake optimization, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, Basel, etc.).

Additional Information

  • This is an onsite position in Phoenix, AZ.
  • The role requires a strong understanding of banking data and regulatory environments.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
