Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled GCP Data Engineer to join our team and support data engineering and analytics initiatives on the Google Cloud Platform. This role is crucial for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and platforms. The primary focus will be on enabling reliable data ingestion, processing, and analytics to support various business use cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement robust and scalable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Build and maintain data warehousing solutions using BigQuery.
  • Utilize GCP services such as Dataflow/Apache Beam for data processing and Cloud Composer (Airflow) for workflow orchestration.
  • Implement and manage messaging queues using Pub/Sub for real-time data streaming.
  • Develop and maintain data ingestion and transformation processes.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data platforms.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Implement CI/CD practices for data engineering workflows.
  • Apply data modeling techniques to optimize data structures and performance.
  • Adhere to cloud security best practices in all data engineering activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines and infrastructure.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in data engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
  • Proficiency in BigQuery for data warehousing and analytics.
  • Experience with Dataflow/Apache Beam for data processing.
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow) for workflow management.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Pub/Sub for messaging.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL are essential.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of data modeling principles and best practices.
  • Understanding of cloud security best practices.

Additional Information:

  • This is an onsite role located in Phoenix, AZ.
  • The position is a contract role.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US.

Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 per year (Estimated)
