Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BigCommerce Technical Lead with a strong background in headless commerce architecture. This role is crucial for driving the technical direction and implementation of our e-commerce platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and seamless integration with enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of BigCommerce solutions, with a focus on custom themes, templates, and extensions using the Stencil framework.
- Architect and develop headless commerce solutions utilizing the Catalyst framework (Next.js based).
- Implement front-end components using React and Next.js, leveraging GraphQL Storefront API for dynamic content delivery.
- Develop and maintain robust REST API integrations for various business needs.
- Oversee and execute enterprise-level integrations with systems such as ERP (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite), CRM, PIM, and payment gateways.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines and oversee cloud deployments on AWS or Azure.
- Implement performance optimization strategies, including caching and CDN utilization, to ensure a fast and responsive user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to define project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance throughout the development lifecycle.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in e-commerce and BigCommerce.
Must-Have Skills:
- Extensive experience with BigCommerce Stencil framework for custom themes, templates, and extensions.
- Proven expertise in headless commerce architecture, specifically using the Catalyst framework (Next.js based).
- Strong proficiency in React, Next.js, and GraphQL for building dynamic storefronts.
- Experience with integrating various REST APIs.
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise integrations, including ERP (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite), CRM, PIM, and payment gateways.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment strategies (AWS/Azure).
- Expertise in performance optimization techniques, caching, and Content Delivery Networks (CDN).
Highly Preferred Skills:
- BigCommerce Developer Certification.
- Experience with local candidates in the Durham, NC area.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
