Job Title: BigID Engineer

We are seeking a skilled BigID Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial for deploying, configuring, and managing the BigID data intelligence platform. The engineer will be responsible for discovering, classifying, and protecting sensitive data across various cloud and hybrid environments, ensuring regulatory compliance and enhancing data governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Platform Deployment & Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain BigID solutions, including scanners, classifiers, and data connectors.
  • Data Discovery & Classification: Implement policies to identify, map, and classify sensitive data (PII, PHI) across diverse storage systems, including cloud, SaaS, and databases.
  • Governance & Compliance: Align data protection strategies with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
  • Automation & Integration: Develop custom workflows, API integrations, and scripts (e.g., Python) to enhance platform performance and automate data governance tasks.
  • Integration with Security Tools: Integrate BigID with enterprise security tools, including SIEM platforms, data governance tools, identity management systems, and ticketing systems.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Resolve platform performance issues, tune classification accuracy, and manage system updates and upgrades.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with security, privacy, and IT teams to implement data protection controls and generate comprehensive compliance reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency with BigID platform capabilities, including cataloging, policy creation, and API usage.
  • Cloud Proficiency: Strong understanding of cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Azure.
  • Data Security Knowledge: Deep understanding of data classification techniques, sensitive data discovery, regular expressions (Regex), and ML-based pattern generation.
  • Compliance Experience: Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and a solid understanding of compliance and privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Linux, containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in data security, data governance, or privacy.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $100,000 – $140,000 per year (Estimated)
