Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst 3 with extensive experience in finance or financial systems to join our team. This role requires a strong understanding of general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, and grants. The ideal candidate will have experience working with custom-built or configurable financial systems and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Gather and document business needs related to financial systems, including general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, and grants.
  • Work with custom-built or configurable financial systems to understand their functionalities and limitations.
  • Utilize data analysis tools such as Excel and SQL to extract and interpret financial data.
  • Collaborate with development teams throughout the SDLC and agile methodologies (Scrum, Sprint).
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and resolve issues.
  • Translate complex financial rules into clear technical requirements.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of financial data models and database structures.
  • Understand APIs, ETL tools, and integration between finance modules.
  • Support financial system testing and validation processes.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 13+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Strong understanding of finance or financial systems, including general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, and grants.
  • Experience working with custom-built or configurable financial systems.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Visio).
  • Familiarity with SDLC and agile methodologies (Scrum, Sprint).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex financial rules into technical requirements.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Financials, other financial applications).
  • Knowledge of financial data modeling and database structures.
  • Basic understanding of APIs, ETL tools, and integration between finance modules.
  • Experience working in government or public-sector environments.
