Role Overview
DIA Software Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Business Analyst 5 for a critical hybrid role based in Dimondale, Michigan. This position requires a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in the field, specifically focusing on complex IT environments and large-scale software delivery. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that all business needs are meticulously understood and that technical solutions are perfectly aligned with organizational goals. This role is pivotal in ensuring that software is delivered on time, within scope, and meets the high-quality standards expected in a senior-level capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze raw data gathered by project teams and apply advanced analytical tools and techniques to extract meaningful insights that drive strategic decision-making.
- Conduct comprehensive ‘build vs. buy’ analyses to determine whether custom-built solutions or off-the-shelf software best meet business requirements and technical feasibility.
- Evaluate legacy systems to determine the optimal path for modernization, whether through integration, enhancement, or complete replacement with new applications.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives, managing project delivery timelines and scope while ensuring all technical constraints are addressed.
- Mentor junior Business Analysts by sharing industry best practices, providing guidance on complex requirements gathering, and supporting their professional growth.
- Translate complex business requirements into actionable technical tasks for developers, testers, and architects.
- Facilitate communication between product owners, executives, and IT development teams to ensure a cohesive understanding of project objectives.
- Work effectively within Agile and Hybrid environments, creating high-quality user stories and managing backlogs in tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
Technical and Professional Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst in the IT sector.
- Proven experience with State-level projects or government agency environments is mandatory.
- Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Waterfall, Agile, and Kanban methodologies.
- Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure, including cloud computing (AWS/Azure), APIs, and middleware solutions.
- Expertise in data modeling, gap analysis, and system integration strategies.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing large-scale, cross-functional project teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $140,000 – $190,000 per year
