Role Overview: Business Analyst – Financial Planning
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Business Analyst specializing in Financial Planning to join a premier global investment bank in New York City. This role is critical in bridging the gap between complex business requirements and technical execution within the wealth management domain. The successful candidate will work on high-impact applications and tool enhancements that directly support financial advisors and their clients in achieving long-term financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate extensively with business stakeholders and User Experience (UX) designers to synthesize complex requirements into actionable technology specifications.
- Drive the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by managing backlogs, writing detailed user stories, and ensuring alignment between technical teams and business objectives.
- Utilize JIRA for project tracking, sprint planning, and reporting, maintaining a high level of transparency across the project lifecycle.
- Communicate effectively with technology stakeholders, translating business needs into technical terminology and vice versa.
- Support the development and enhancement of financial planning platforms, focusing on asset allocation, 401k structures, and goals-based analysis.
- Apply deep knowledge of financial planning concepts, including equity compensation, portfolio construction, and retirement planning, to ensure software solutions meet industry standards.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst specifically supporting financial planning platforms or wealth management applications.
- Strong understanding of high-level wealth management concepts such as asset allocation, retirement accounts (401k, IRA), and portfolio management.
- Expertise in SDLC methodologies and proficiency with Agile tools, specifically JIRA.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage both technical developers and non-technical business leaders.
- Experience working with UX teams to ensure application enhancements are user-centric and intuitive.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, requiring 3 days per week onsite in New York City.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
