About the Role:
This is a high-visibility contract role for a Business Analyst specializing in Life Sciences, focusing on lab informatics and scientific workflows. The position is onsite in Foster City, CA, and offers a 6-month contract duration. You will be instrumental in driving data-driven transformation within cutting-edge lab and research environments, working closely with scientists, R&D, and IT leadership. This is an opportunity to shape future lab workflows and platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with lab scientists and stakeholders to gather and document detailed requirements.
- Lead workshops, interviews, and process walkthroughs to understand current state and future needs.
- Create comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), use cases, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Act as a crucial bridge between business (scientific) teams and IT teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
- Validate proposed solutions to ensure they align with scientific workflows and operational requirements.
- Support change management initiatives and user adoption of new systems and processes.
Must-Have Skills:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong focus on data and technology projects.
- Proven experience with lab informatics or scientific workflows in a research or laboratory setting.
- A solid background in Biopharma, Life Sciences, or R&D environments.
- Expertise in requirements documentation, including BRDs and FRDs.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Gene Data Capture processes and systems.
