Role Overview: Senior Business Analyst – Logistics Planning

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst specializing in Logistics Planning to join our dynamic team in Houston, TX. This is a critical onsite role requiring a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, transportation management, and advanced planning systems. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of professional experience, specifically within high-volume logistics environments similar to industry leaders like UPS or FedEx. As a Business Analyst, you will serve as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that logistics operations are optimized through data-driven insights and robust system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities and Strategic Impact

  • Requirement Gathering & Analysis: Lead comprehensive workshops and interviews with stakeholders across Logistics, Supply Chain, and Transportation departments to define business needs.
  • Documentation Excellence: Prepare high-quality Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Documents (FRD), User Stories, and detailed Process Flow diagrams.
  • Gap Analysis: Perform rigorous current-state vs. future-state gap analysis to identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost reduction.
  • AI & Analytics Integration: Leverage experience with AI-driven tools and advanced analytics platforms to enhance predictive planning and route optimization.
  • System Support: Provide expert guidance on the configuration and enhancement of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

Domain Expertise Requirements

The successful candidate must demonstrate mastery in the following logistics domains:

  • Demand & Supply Planning: Aligning inventory levels with market demand to minimize stockouts and overages.
  • Transportation Planning: Managing the movement of goods across complex networks with a focus on cost-effectiveness.
  • Route Optimization: Utilizing algorithmic tools to determine the most efficient delivery paths.
  • Fleet & Warehouse Management: Overseeing the physical assets and storage facilities that power the supply chain.
  • Inventory Planning: Implementing strategic inventory controls to maintain optimal flow.

Technical Proficiency

Candidates must be well-versed in enterprise-level systems including TMS, WMS, and ERP Supply Chain modules. Experience with SAP, Oracle, or specialized logistics software is highly preferred. You should be comfortable navigating complex data structures and translating technical constraints into business-friendly language. This role requires a proactive approach to system troubleshooting and a commitment to continuous improvement in a fast-paced, onsite environment.

Visa: GC / USC only. Onsite Houston (Local candidates only). Domain: Logistics Planning (UPS-like environment experience required).


Compensation & Location

Salary: $125,000 – $165,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Houston, TX
