Role Overview: Senior Business Analyst (Aviation Domain)
We are currently seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Business Analyst to join our dynamic team in Miami, FL, or White Plains, NY. This is a long-term engagement requiring a professional with over 10 years of experience in the field, specifically within product-focused environments. The ideal candidate will serve as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical development teams, ensuring that complex requirements are translated into actionable technical specifications that drive innovation in the aviation and airline industry.
Key Responsibilities and Strategic Impact
- Partner extensively with cross-functional teams to define, document, and refine business requirements, product enhancements, and operational process improvements.
- Lead end-to-end project execution across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) utilizing advanced Agile, Scrum, and SAFe frameworks to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and technical architects to translate high-level business needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
- Contribute to strategic planning sessions, roadmap refinement, and high-level stakeholder communication to align project goals with broader organizational objectives.
- Manage project activities including progress tracking, risk identification, mitigation planning, and comprehensive status reporting to executive leadership.
- Facilitate requirement gathering sessions, workshops, and JAD sessions to ensure consensus among diverse stakeholder groups.
- Drive the adoption of project management principles and tools to enhance team productivity and transparency.
Technical and Domain Expertise
The successful candidate must possess a deep understanding of the aviation or airline industry, as this domain knowledge is essential for navigating the unique regulatory and operational challenges of the sector. You will be expected to have a strong background in product analysis, with the ability to visualize the end-to-end user journey and identify opportunities for digital transformation. Familiarity with software development concepts is required to effectively collaborate with engineering teams and understand technical constraints. Your expertise in Agile methodologies will be vital in maintaining a fast-paced, iterative development environment where requirements may evolve based on market feedback and technological advancements.
Professional Requirements and Environment
Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst. While the role offers some flexibility, onsite presence in Miami or White Plains is highly preferred to foster collaboration and direct engagement with the core project teams. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are non-negotiable, as you will be responsible for presenting complex data and project updates to various levels of management. Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $178,000 per year (Estimated)
