About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with extensive experience in Personal Lines (Auto and Home) insurance. This role focuses on Underwriting Referrals and core modernization initiatives. You will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams to enhance rating, pricing, and underwriting workflows using modern technologies, including Generative AI. The position requires a hybrid work model, with 3-4 days onsite in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements elicitation through workshops, interviews, and Subject Matter Expert (SME) sessions.
- Perform As-Is/To-Be process analysis across policy, underwriting, claims, and servicing to identify automation opportunities.
- Translate complex business needs into system-ready functional specifications.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and Quality Assurance teams in an Agile environment.
- Manage backlog grooming, sprint support, and story clarification within Jira.
- Ensure regulatory and compliance adherence, including Department of Insurance (DOI) filings and state-specific rules.
Essential Skills
- Deep functional knowledge of Rating, Pricing, Underwriting Rules, and Loss Drivers.
- Proven track record in Core Modernization, replacement, or enhancement projects.
- Expertise in creating Business Requirements Documents (BRD), Functional Requirements Documents (FRD), and User Stories with Acceptance Criteria.
- Strong ability in Requirements Traceability (RTM) and Change Impact Analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Workflow Enablement and Straight-Through Processing (STP).
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with Generative AI (Gen AI) tools and Prompt Engineering (e.g., Claude).
- Experience in Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) for process flows.
- Strong understanding of the P&C Insurance digital transformation landscape.
